A fictionalised true story of a farmer’s daughter Mary Jane Smith from Drongan in Ayrshire who had nine illegitimate children but brought none of them up herself. The story takes us to Cumbria and Islay. It was researched by two of her great granddaughters and was written by a retired teacher. While much of it is imagined, there is enough evidence to support the basic facts. She was a most unusual lady with a most unusual life style.

It is self-published and is good quality with colour illustrations.
